EnviroCraft was proud to play a part in this year’s BBC Children in Need DIY SOS build for The Joshua Tree, a Cheshire-based charity providing vital support to children and families affected by childhood cancer.
The ambitious project, filmed for BBC One’s DIY SOS Children in Need Special, brought together tradespeople and businesses from across the UK to help extend and transform The Joshua Tree’s facilities. The goal was to create more space for therapy, play, and family support to ensure that even more children and families can benefit from the charity’s incredible work.

EnviroCraft’s Role in the Build
As part of the large-scale effort, EnviroCraft provided over 40 waste management bins to the site to enable smooth operations throughout the ten-day build.
These included both general waste and recycling bins, which were emptied weekly to keep the site clear and compliant with environmental standards.
EnviroCraft’s contribution may not have been part of the construction itself, but it played a crucial supporting role, maintaining a clean, safe and organised site for the hundreds of tradespeople and volunteers who gave their time to the project. Waste management is a vital but often overlooked element of builds like this, and EnviroCraft’s involvement helped the team stay on schedule and meet their sustainability goals.
“Although we weren’t directly part of the build itself, our bins helped keep the site running smoothly and supported the recycling ambitions that the DIY SOS team were aiming for,” said Simon Annett, Sales Director at EnviroCraft. “It was great to contribute to something that will make such a positive difference to children and families.”
About The Joshua Tree
Founded in 2006 by Dai and Lynda Hill, The Joshua Tree provides bespoke emotional and practical support to families facing the challenges of childhood cancer. As the charity has grown, it’s outgrown its original site in Northwich, which is why this year’s DIY SOS build focused on expanding its facilities to reach even more families across the UK.
The project was supported by BBC Children in Need and filmed in partnership with BBC Morning Live, with presenters Nick Knowles, Gethin Jones, and Helen Skelton joining the volunteer team on site.
A Shared Commitment to Community
EnviroCraft is proud to have contributed to such a meaningful cause, working alongside hundreds of volunteers and local tradespeople to bring The Joshua Tree’s new facilities to life.
The collaboration is a reminder of how businesses, communities and individuals can come together to make a lasting impact.
The episode will air as part of BBC Children in Need week in November 2025.
