The majority of MEPs are represented by parties which reject the EU Commission’s decision to extend the phaseout of free allocations to 2038 – with the European People’s Party (EPP), Socialists & Democrats (S&D), Greens, and The Left blocs all stating in recent amendments to the Commission proposal that they would not support the measure.
