G.CANDIANI, an Italian cosmetic packaging specialist, enhanced its range with DOW’s new SURLYN
PC 2000 REN. This bio-circular version of SURLYN
ionomer is now used in premium, eco-sustainable cream jars.
The company creates customized caps, jars, and bottles for perfumery and cosmetics. It offers standard cream jars made from SURLYN
, combining design and performance.
Thanks to DOW’s sustainable materials and G.CANDIANI’s expertise in injection molding, a new line of eco-friendly cream jars has been developed. These are suitable for face, body, and eye contour products.
Carlo Candiani, company director, explained, “We rely on SURLYN
for design freedom and aesthetics. SURLYN
PC 2000 REN offers a responsible alternative with the same high performance.”
SURLYN
PC 2000 REN retains key properties: transparency, luxurious shine, silky feel, impact resistance, and versatile design. These qualities enable highly customized packaging options.
The jars come in various sizes—15 ml, 50 ml, and 200 ml—with round or square shapes. They are available in vibrant colors like red, blue, turquoise, and yellow.
Decorative options include hot stamping, screen printing, and UV effects, allowing brands to tailor their packaging to their identity. The material’s robustness mimics glass while avoiding fragility.
Produced from bio-circular resources like used cooking oils, SURLYN
PC 2000 REN reduces carbon footprint without sacrificing quality. It is ISCC PLUS certified under the mass balance principle.
By valorizing industrial waste, this material contributes to environmental impact reduction throughout its lifecycle. It also meets strict safety standards for cosmetics.
Following successful use in caps for a French luxury group, G.CANDIANI now adopts SURLYN
PC 2000 REN for its entire packaging range. This showcases supply chain collaboration and co-innovation.
Imran Munshi of DOW stated, “Our circular economy commitment is driven by the belief that innovation must reduce environmental impact without compromising performance or elegance.”
