Chinese luxury brand Avatr has confirmed the 07L electric SUV will lead its Australian launch, with pre-orders due to open before the end of 2026 and first customer deliveries targeted for the first half of 2027.
The right-hand-drive five-seater will be revealed in Australian specification ahead of pre-orders. The parent Changan Group is handling the local introduction, but pricing, the number of variants and the sales and service arrangements have not been announced.
The 07L is a larger model than the Avatr 07 SUV previously identified as a potential Australian candidate after a right-hand-drive example was photographed testing in Melbourne. Avatr lists the 07L at 4910mm long and 1980mm wide, with a 2990mm wheelbase. The earlier 07 measures 4825mm long with a 2940mm wheelbase.

While Avatr has not confirmed which versions Australia will receive, its global specification sheet lists three all-electric 07L variants. All use an 89.33kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture.

Two rear-wheel-drive versions produce 305kW and 435Nm, accelerate from 0–100km/h in a claimed 5.9 seconds and have a quoted 725km driving range under China’s CLTC test cycle.
The three-motor all-wheel-drive flagship produces a combined 712kW and 996Nm, reaches 100km/h in a claimed 3.7 seconds and has a quoted 650km CLTC range.
Avatr claims a zero-to-80 per cent DC charging time of 20 minutes and a 30-to-80 per cent time of less than 10 minutes for the global variants. It also claims a 10-minute charge can add 375km of CLTC range. Australian charging specifications and a locally applicable driving-range figure have yet to be published.

The global equipment list includes a wide digital display environment, Meridian audio and available electronic exterior mirrors.
Avatr says its operating system has been localised for Australia, but final equipment and driver-assistance functions will depend on local specification and approval.
Avatr also sells petrol-powered range-extender vehicles overseas. Its Australian announcement commits to the battery-electric 07L; it does not confirm other models or powertrains for this market.

The brand is backed by Changan, with battery maker CATL among its major investors and Huawei a technology partner.
Its Australian debut will add another Chinese contender to a premium EV market that already includes Zeekr and BYD’s Denza brand.
Changan is already connected to the Australian market through Deepal, which is distributed locally by Inchcape.
Changan says it will lead Avatr’s launch, with further details on the 07L’s Australian specifications, pricing and ownership arrangements expected ahead of orders opening later this year.
