Date:

Researchers developed a titanium-hydrogel platform that combines silane-based chemical bonding with TPMS mechanical interlocking to create a strong interface between rigid Ti6Al4V components and a PVA/PAAm hydrogel. In laboratory tests, the system maintained low-friction hip articulation over 500,000 loading cycles, absorbed impact energy in an artificial disc prototype, and supported controlled antibiotic release.
