Solenis has signed a strategic representation agreement with Moleaer to expand the use of nanobubbles in biological wastewater treatment. Solenis provides water treatment, process and hygiene solutions. Moleaer specializes in nanobubble technology.
Under the global deal, Solenis becomes Moleaer’s exclusive third-party representative for polymer activation. Moleaer’s patented process will be added to Solenis’ Novera Nanobubble Performance Program. The companies say the combined offer will help customers get more from their polymers and support sustainability goals.
The partnership covers industrial and municipal water treatment, with a focus on biosolids, the sludge left behind by biological treatment. It targets dewatering, thickening and clarification. The key step comes earlier, when operators dilute and activate flocculant polymers in make-down water. That is where the nanobubbles are added.
Nanobubbles are charged gas bubbles smaller than 200 nanometers. Unlike larger bubbles, they stay suspended in water instead of rising and popping quickly. According to the companies, they can cut polymer use by 10% to 40% and raise biosolids cake dryness by 2% to 4%. Results vary with the application and operating conditions.
Solenis executive Dave Jellison said the agreement strengthens the company’s integrated treatment offer as water and wastewater challenges grow more complex. He said pairing Solenis chemistry and technical support with Moleaer’s technology gives customers more value without major capital investment.
Moleaer CEO Nick Dyner said operators face stricter discharge rules, aging infrastructure and rising costs. He named lower polymer use and less biosolids hauling as two of the biggest savings opportunities. He added that Solenis’ scale and technical reach should widen access to the technology worldwide.
